Overview

Postini is our spam filtering service through which we filter all email accounts that we host. It is an extremely powerful service from the industry-leader Google.

Your Postini Password

Our Postini filtering system uses a password that is independent from your current email password. Your password will be emailed to you as soon as your account is set up.

Recovering Your Postini Password

Your Postini password can be covered with a quick email to us asking us to do as much.

Logging In

  • Open your web browser and navigate to http://login.postini.com/
  • Your Log in Address is your full email address. Your Password is randomly assigned through the account creation system and has been emailed to you.
  • If you have access to your Postini Administrator interface you will see a link to the Postini Administrator access area for five seconds, elsewise it will forward you directly to the Message Center.

Delivering Messages

  • After you have logged into your Postini account you will have the Message Center Junk Quarantine window displayed.
  • Scroll down through the list until you find the message that you wish to deliver. You can also resort the list by From, Subject, and Block Reason by clicking on the link near the top of the list of emails. You can also click the link again to reverse the sort order.
  • When you have found the message that you wish to deliver press the Deliver button to the far-right. This will deliver the message to your email account.
  • You will have the option to approve any of the addresses that you have delivered. Click the check box under the Approve Sender column then press the Approve Selected Senders button at the bottom.

Approving Sender

  • After you have logged into your Postini account you will have the Message Center Junk Quarantine window displayed.
  • Click the My Settings link in the top-right of the window to access the My Setting access area.
  • Click the Approve Senders link found under the Junk Settings group of options.
  • The text box on the left is the approved senders list. You can add email addresses (for example: support@websightdesign.com) directly to this list. After you have finished press the Update Approved Senders button below the text box.
  • The text box on the top-right is the approved domains list. You can add email domains (for example: websightdesign.com) directly to this list. After you have finished press the Update Approved Domains below the text box.
  • Any changes made to these lists will go into affect instantly.

Blocking Sender

  • After you have logged into your Postini account you will have the Message Center Junk Quarantine window displayed.
  • Click the My Settings link in the top-right of the window to access the My Setting access area.
  • Click the Block Senders link found under the Junk Settings group of options.
  • The text box on the left is the blocked senders list. You can add email addresses (for example: support@websightdesign.com) directly to this list. After you have finished press the Update Blocked Senders button below the text box.
  • The text box on the right is the blocked domains list. You can add email domains (for example: websightdesign.com) directly to this list. After you have finished press the Update Blocked Domains below the text box.
  • Any changes made to these lists will go into affect instantly.

Changing Filter Levels

  • After you have logged into your Postini account you will have the Message Center Junk Quarantine window displayed.
  • Click the My Settings link in the top-right of the window to access the My Setting access area.
  • Click the Manage Junk Filters link found under the Junk Settings group of options.
  • You can disable the Junk Email Blocking by clicking the link that says ACTIVATED (and enable it by clicking the DEACTIVATED link if it has been disabled). Please be careful with this option.
  • You can change the overall junk filter setting on a range of Lenient, Normal, Strict, Aggressive, and Very Aggressive. The 'normal' filter setting that we use is Very Aggressive for all of our email accounts unless otherwise specified.
  • You can change the specific filter settings for Sexually Explicit, Get Rich Quick, Special Offers, Racially Insensitive filters by clicking on the Show Category Filters link and then changing the radio button between default and +1, +2, +3, and +4. The 'default' we use for our accounts is +4.
  • Click the Save Settings button after you have made your changes. Any changes made to this area will go into affect instantly.

Changing Postini Password

  • After you have logged into your Postini account you will have the Message Center Junk Quarantine window displayed.
  • Click the My Settings link in the top-right of the window to access the My Setting access area.
  • Click the Change Password link under the Personal Settings group.
  • Enter your old Postini account password first.
  • Enter your new Postini account password twice. Your Postini account password must contain at least four characters.
  • Press the Save Changes button.
  • Your password has been changed. Press the Continue button and make sure to make a note of the new password.
