In November 2016 WebSight Design (WSD) launched a redesign of Liberty Puzzles' website. The multi-tiered project had several design objectives. Patrons love the charm of the brick-and-mortar retail space in Boulder, Colorado, and the owners wanted the website to have a matching feel while maintaining the basic functionality of the e-commerce website. The owners also wanted a responsive mobile website site with new and intuitive features that are familiar to their long-standing client base.
The redesign included an across-the-board improvement of all functions related to e-commerce transactions (purchasing, credit card info, sales history, shipping, etc.) as well as an updated and user-friendly content management system that enables the client to update content, inventory, and photos easily and efficiently. Liberty Puzzles is a leading manufacturer of hand-designed wood puzzles. This unique product is the centerpiece of their business, and visually the new site reflects the artisan nature, craftsmanship, and graphics of the puzzles. The language employed on the website coveys that of a small town shop. One gets the feeling they are speaking directly with the owners, as the tradition of puzzling and the puzzle craft is shared. The “About” page closes with a quote that sums up the puzzle community: “Sit Long, Talk Much!”
