Apple Responds to Major Security Flaw with Software Update

August 23, 2022 | By: Author Page for Leah Rosenthal

Apple, Inc., one of the world’s most innovative and affluent technology firms warned of serious security vulnerabilities that could be a gateway for hackers to take control of devices.

Owners of iPhones, iPads, laptop and/or desktop Macs have been advised to immediately update their devices with the new iOS 15.6.1 software.

The update can be obtained by going to the “Settings” section of a device, and choosing the “Software Update” option. The iOS update is not required for older operating systems: macOS Catalina and Big Sur.

Prior to last week’s announcement, Apple’s last data breach was in September 2021, when a spyware called Pegasus infected iPhones and other Apple Devices.
