The Challenge

Understanding the value of providing a seamless, high-quality educational experience in-person and online, Effective Teaching sought to revamp its website to serve customers better. As an educational company that provides instruction and teaching materials for teachers, Effective Teaching partnered with WSD for custom programming solutions and API integrations that would enable both physical and digital delivery of educational content. 

Our Strategy

Working closely with Effective Teaching, the team at WSD learned about the company's need to create viewing restrictions on digital media, establish robust admin management functionality, and develop multiple APIs for a more seamless and efficient workflow. 

As a result, our developers created an e-commerce site, connected effectiveteaching.com to a learning management system that tracks tests and auto-sends certifications and the company's digital delivery platform, iwong.com, which allows customers to purchase and watch digital content. To help enforce digital media consumption agreements, we built rule-based programming that restricts content based on IP address, account, number of views, and length of time content is available. WSD also developed logic that ensured customers were reading materials before taking exams etc. 

To provide a more fluid customer experience, we built: a custom video player system, a package builder that allows customers to bundle any combination of e-learning products, shipping API integrations, and volume discount logic to calculate bulk shipping costs for classroom orders.
